Hiking and a Cabin Trip

We have already done some hiking this year, which is awesome since last year Riley had a broken foot and we did none! We love getting out in nature! Riley’s brother let us borrow his kid backpack and Anya loved it! She was so good the whole time and was just smiling and cute. She was so grumpy for the fist part of her life and it is so fun that she is becoming more happy. She loves Appa and giggles at him sometimes even. IMG_8611

This is Anya’s 20 week picture. I love it so much but she looks so much older then 5 months to me.

We have the lovely opportunity to introduce Anya to one of my favorite places on the planet-Island Park! It was a short trip but totally worth it.

Appa came, of course and loved being out in nature with us and his best doggie friend Willow.

Anya and her first moose sighting! I was singing moose tunes for kids and out of the brush came this moose, it was awesome! I’ll admit Anya had no idea what was going on. Appa, however, was very interested in the moose we saw.

Yummmmmm best water. I can’t believe I drink out of this thing  ha!

Jade has wanted to rent mountain bikes for seriously like, 3 years. This year we finally did! It was actually a lot of fun once I got used to sliding around in the sand. Unfortunately, this is the only picture.

We get to feed Anya actual food now, so that is fun. At first she wasn’t a fan but now she loves it!

She will not keep her thumb out of her mouth. It kinda drives me nuts.

She always puts her hands on her face when she eats. It’s hard being so adorable.

We had had a regional stake conference and were able to go up to the conference center to watch. We had to get a picture by the temple…sorta. IMG_4623

We often feed Anya like this because she is getting so heavy.

She sits!IMG_0941

Poor girl often gets limbs caught in the slats of her crib. Guess thats why people have bumpers.

Appa is her protector. He spends a lot of time sleeping by her door and by her crib if we are in her room. Yes, we hang out in her room while she sleeps hahha!IMG_9011

Scout Falls

On Memorial Day we hiked Scout Falls. It was our second attempt  of the year due to snow, although we still ran into it this time. Also Korby, Heather and Naomi came with us! So that was fun. After, we had dinner by the fire. What a lovely time it was. Scout Falls is still one of my favorite hikes. Who am I kidding, I have never done a hike I didn’t like. Well there was one, I suppose. The view at the top was amazing so it was worth it. Anyway, here enjoy these pictures.

Here is Heather, at this point she is …7.5 maybe 8 months pregnant. You may think we are monsters for making her hike with us. But you are wrong because she is a champ. Seriously, she made it to the top (except the little last part, which was for the best) in mud and snow like it ain’t no thang. We were all like “Oh, are you doing ok.” ” Do you want to stop here?!” and she was all like “Guys I’m pregnant, not handicapped.” No, she didn’t really say that. I made that up. Actually, I think I heard it on tv once. But seriously, a champ. And just as a side note, I’m super excited to meet that little baby. Like fer realz.Image

This is my momma, she be so hip.Image

Mom is hip, but Haley might be more hip. Maybe. Image

We can finally see the waterfall!Image

Almost there!Image

Riley and The Appadog. So cute. Image

The group. This is where we ate. Of course we roasted hotdogs. And watched a dance mom singe her eyelashes, eyebrows and bangs with gasoline and fire. We thought it was bad when we saw all the teenage girls in Victoria’s Secret gear. We knew it was bad when we saw the mom (dressed the same) with a gas can. Image

Roasting the hotdogs!Image

I have sooo many cute pictures for Jade and Haley to use in their wedding videos…..Image

My boys by the fire. Appa looks so proud to be a dog. Image

I have a confession, I love fire. Actually it’s a love/hate relationship. I hate the smell but I love burning things. Image

Thanks George!

This year for Thanksgiving we got to go to Thanks George, also known to some as Saint George. My family really likes to hold on to little nuggets of greatness so even after about…11 years it has been Thanks George. It’s cute. We got to ride with Paityn on the way down, so that was pretty much the best way to start a vacation. Her and the Appa dog became great friends. Image

I don’t care who ya are, that right there is cute!

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving feast, I made a peanut butter pie and man oh man it was good. Appa got a giant bully stick for his Thanksgiving feast. It was pretty hilarious watching him try to figure out what to do with that thing. Image

We finished off the day in a wonderful way

That is whipped cream from a can. It’s kind of addicting.

The next day we went on a hike to Snow Canyon overlook. It was so lovely. This is me, Jade and Haley on the way up.

This was our view at the top. It was kinda freaking me out because it came to a very abrupt cliff and it was giving me the willies.  Image

Here is what it looked like if you hung your head over the edge of the cliff. Yes Riley and Dad were dangling over the edge.

Here is Dad.

Here is all of us overlooking Snow Canyon

Jade got a pedicure in the sand. It was really soft sand.

Haley pondering life.

Heading back down

We love hiking!

We had a very nice time in Saint George, a little get away was just what we needed.
